The school year is coming to an end.  No one knows “tired” like a teacher at the end of the school year.

Summer is a great time for teachers to recharge, refuel, and address any emotional challenges that have occurred during the school year.  The summer break gives teachers the opportunity to address the stress they’ve experienced throughout the year.  Just because school has ended does not mean teachers have dealt with the stress.

It’s important that teachers spend their summers recharging and refueling.  Self-care should not be ignored.  Teachers owe it to themselves and to their students to use the summer to rest, refresh and renew.

Spending time with family and friends

Spending time with your family and friends over the summer months is a great way to reconnect.

Engage in well-deserved self-care

Use the summer to rest and get back to feeling like yourself, prioritizing self-care and wellness.

Pick up some hobbies

Create or reintroduce hobbies you have been putting off.  Move your body, join a fitness class, take long walks, go to the beach, or work in the garden.

Therapy

Adding therapy to your summer self-care can help teachers work through any stress and prepare for a successful return to work.
